PERFORMANCE PLANNING:

Responsible for maintaining Northport Medical Center buildings and grounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Maintains and improves buildings, equipment and grounds
2.Emergency repairs, scheduled repairs, preventative maintenance and inspections.
3.Provision of reliable utilities.
4.Regulatory compliance of buildings, equipment and grounds.
5.Ordering parts and materials.
6.Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards.
7.Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
8.All other duties as assigned.
9.Attend all scheduled classes and meetings.
10.Complete all required logs and records.
?Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
?Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
?Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
?Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
?Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
?All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Two year technical degree directly applicable to primary assignment and two years of experience either in health facility engineering or relevant to primary assignment; or, five years experience relevant to primary assignment of position with Engineering Services at a DCH facility or, ten years experience utilizing relevant general mechanical skills; and demonstrated facility competence through a cognitive CBT test and specific tasks observation. Must posses a valid driver’s license. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Environmental

*Includes exposure to human disease, infection, and hazardous chemicals

*Includes exposure to extremely high decibel levels. (Loud noise)

*Requires wearing common personal protective equipment.

Physical

Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50

pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Heavy Work. Able to climb ladders and scaffolding. Possess good manual dexterity. Good communication skills. Vision and hearing to be corrected to within a normal range.

Psychological

*Includes exposure and dealing with physical aggression of violent individuals. (Code Strong)

Physical presence onsite is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
